Rico Verhoeven

Rico Verhoeven (full name Ricardo Verhoeven) is a Dutch professional kickboxer and boxer, nicknamed "The King of Kickboxing." He held the Glory heavyweight championship belt for 12 years. This year, he is switching to professional boxing, where he will fight the undisputed champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

Rico Verhoeven has been involved in martial arts since early childhood. His first coach was his father, Jos Verhoeven, a black belt in karate. At the age of 6, Rico began practicing Kyokushin karate, and at 7, he switched to kickboxing. At 14, there were no other competitors his age in the right weight, so father and son took a break from competition until he was 16, when Rico made his debut in adult kickboxing. From the age of 17, he trained at the Superpro Sportcenter in Zevenbergen under Dennis Crouwel.

In addition to his athletic career, Rico Verhoeven is known as an actor. He has starred in Hollywood action films, including Black Lotus and Hunt for Thieves 2. This versatile athlete combines his status as a kickboxing legend, boxer, and actor.
